In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Morton COLSON of Dorchester in the County of Dorset Clerk being in health of body and of sound mind memory and understanding praised be to God for the same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
I Give devise and bequeath: unto my beloved wife Mary COLSON all my money derivities for money goods chattels estate and and effects of what nature or kind soever to hold the same unto my said wife her executors administrators and assigns and I do nominate constitute and appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills at any time heretofore by me made
In Witness: whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and one.

In the Goods of the Reverend Thomas Morton COLSON Clerk deceased
Appeared Personally John Morton COLSON the elder of Puddlehinton(1) and John Morton COLSON the younger of Dorchester and having been sworn on the holy Evangelists to depose the truth severally, made oath as follows that they know and were well acquainted with the Reverend Thomas Morton COLSON Clerk late of Dorchester in the County of Dorset deceased for several years before and to the time of his death and also with his manner and character of handwritingand subscriptionhaving frequently seen him write and also write subscribe his name and having now with care and attention viewed and inspected the paper writing hereunto annexed ourportingto be and contain the last Will and Testament of the said deceasedthe first part of the said will beginning thus " In the name of God Amen I Thomas Morton Colson of Dorsetshire in the County of Dorset Clerk being in health and body and of sound mind memory and understanding priased be to God for the same " ending thus " In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and one" and subscribed "Thomas Morton COLSON" and particularly the following words signature and date written at the foot or bottom and forming part of the said will
viz. " And I do humbly request my ever dear brother John Morton COLSON that he would take upon him the management in the fullest sense of the word of my family by his advice and assistance I humbly trust to God they may go through life peacefully & quietly without their father The Thomas Morton COLSON Dec 13th 1808 they further made oath they verily and in their conscious belive the whole of the aforesaid words signature and date now appearing at the foot or bottom of the said Will to be of the proper handwriting and subscription of the said Thomas Morton COLSON

John Morton COLSON of Dorchester
On the 9th day of September 1830 the siad John Morton Colson Senior of Puddlehinton and John Morton Colson of Dorchester were duly sworn to the truth of the affidavit by virtue of the annexed commission before me John WOOD Commissioner
Proved: at London 16th September 1830 before the Judge by the oath of Mary COLSON Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom administration was granted having been first sworn by commision dult to administer
