of Dorchester in the Countie of Dorset Marchant beinge sicke
of bodie but pefect of minde thancke be to god doe make this my
last will and Testament the tenth daye of September one ∞ ∞
thousand sixe hundrede and thirteene in manner and forme ∞ ∞ ∞
following ffirst I bequeath and Commend my soule into the ∞ ∞
handes of Almightie god my maker and of Jesus Christ his only
sonne and my onely savior by whose deathe and passion I doe fully
assure my selfe to have remission of my sinnes And for my bodie I doe bequeath
it unto the earth to be buried in Saint Peeters Church soe neare unto my
wyfes grave either on the one side or the other as conveiniently may be unto
which parrishe Church of Saint Peeter I give tenne shillings Item I
give unto the poore of the Almes Howse tenne shillings and unto the residue
of the poore of Dorchester fiftie shillings Item I give unto Mr ffrancis ∞ ∞
ASHLEY Esquire for an assured pledge of my love one gould ring to the
value of twentie shillings with this inscription (Amico fideli nulia compapatio)
Item I give unto Mr John WHITE preacher uppon the same consideration
a gould ring of the value and inscription And moreover I give unto him
towards the reedifieing of his house fortie shillings Item I give
unto my Cosin ELRINGTON for an assured pledge of my love a goulde
ring of the like value and inscription Item unto my brother ffrancis
SNELLING and his wyfe two goulde rings to the value of tenne
shillings a peece with the like inscription Item unto Mr Henry WHITE

sheetes I now lye in Item I give unto my sonne in lawe John MELLEDGE and
his wyfe twoe goulde rings of the like value and inscription Item I give
unto my sonne-in-law Robert BEKE and his wyfe twoe goulde rings of the like
value and inscription Moreover unto my sonne Robert BEKE I give a ffetherbed
a paire of sheetes and a rugg Item I give unto my Cosin Elliot JOHNSON and his
wyfe twoe goulde rings of the like value and inscription Item I give unto
Richard PERRY my second best doublett and hose and my best Stockings Item
I give unto my grand childe Sarah DAVIDGE twenty poundes to be paid
at the daye of her marriage Item I give unto Edith TIGGONS I give five pounds
to be paid {at the daye of her marriage} The Rest of my goods my debts paid and funnerall discharged I
I give to my sonne Gyles GREENE whome I make my sole executor And I
doe earnestly intreate my Cosin John ELRINGTON my Cosin John HARDY
my sonne in lawe Robert BEKE and Thomas DAVIDGE to be my Ovrseers
of this my last will and testament for the better pforemannce thereof In
Witness whereof I have hereunto putt my hande and Seale this twelvth
daye of September in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred
and thirteen witnessed unto the sealeinge hereof John WHITE Ro: BEKE
It was my ffathers pleasure after the ensealeing of this his last will
that my brother DAVIDGE should have the boarde and cupborde in the ∞ ∞
broade chamber.
