Oborne

This is the 1801 census for Oborne, Dorset. It was entered into the back of the oldest parish register book by the Rev.James Knight Moore. It was reproduced in Somerset and Dorset Notes and Queries Vol XV, published 1917 and submitted for publication C.H.Mayo, canon (non-res) of Sherborne. At this time none of the 19th century census returns had been released for public inspection so the publication of an 1801 return was an issue of great interest.

The following table gives the enumeration by order of house. There is no indication of age or birthplace. Occupations are given only for adult men and servants.
The status references are as follows:

S = Single
M = Married
W = Widow or Widower
MC =Male Child
FC = Female Child

Please note that I have no further information on any of the families listed below. There is no further information in the book, and I am not personally researching either Oborne or any of the families listed.
