The Parish Register is difficult to read in places, so readers are invited to use this transcript as a guide only and to consult the original at the Dorset History Centre.
From 1841 to 1896 the names of the Sponsors, usually three or more were recorded in the Occupation column. They are often very hard to read and have not been transcribed.
*The Parish Register contains two sheets at the front that record the baptisms of seven of the children of Edward and Mary Greathed. These Baptisms seem to have taken place at various places in Europe and not in Hinton Parva. The Greathed family were the owners of nearby Uddens House (in the Parish of Holt) which was demolished in 1955, Mary being related to the Glyn family, members of which were clergy in Hinton Parva and elsewhere.
