In the name of God Amen, I William LODER of the parish of Haselbury Bryan, in the County of Dorset, Clothier, being sick and weak in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto Almighty God, therefore calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my -- Last Will and Testament.

That is to say. Principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it my body. I recommend to the earth to be decently buried at ye discretion of my Executor thereafter named, nothing? doubling but at the general resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life.

I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

First of all, I give and bequeath unto my brother James LODER the sum of ten shillings.

I give and bequeath unto William LODER, the son of John LODER the sum of forty pounds.

I give and bequeath unto my sister Mary SHORT, the sum of twenty pounds.

I give unto my cousin Jane, ye wife of Thomas LODER the sum of ten pounds.

I give and bequeath unto my cousin Anne LISTER? the wife of David LISTER? the sum of ten pounds.

I give and bequeath unto my cousin Ann TRIM, the daughter of Mary TRIM of Lydlinch, the sum of ten pounds.

I give and bequeath unto my cousin Lucy KENNALL the wife of Edward KENNALL the sum of ten pounds.

I give and bequeath unto Sarah LODER the daughter of James LODER the sum of ten pounds.

I give and bequeath unto Ann BROWN, daughter of John BROWN alias CARTER lately deceased the sum of five pounds.

I give and bequeath unto Grace KAINS, daughter of John KAINS the sum of twenty pounds.

All the before mentioned Legatees at the end of six months next after my decease, except William LODER ye son of John LODER, Anne BROWN the daughter of John BROWN alias CARTER and Sarah LODER the daughter of James LODER and all them to be paid at eighteen years of age by my Executor hereafter named.

I give and devise and de--- all my lands in Haselbury Bryan aforesaid, unto my nephew Giles LODER, son of my brother James LODER aforesaid for he to have and to hold to him, his heirs and assigns forever.

All the rest and residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels, rights and credits whatsoever and whereforever both quick and dead -- door and within all my ready money, bills, bonds, obligations and p---, I give and bequeath unto my beloved nephew Giles LODER aforesaid whom I likewise constitute, make and ordain my only and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.

And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannull all and every other former Wills and testaments, legacies and bequeaths and Executors by me in any way before this time named, willed and bequeathed, satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I William LODER have hereunto set my standard seal the twenty first day of January in the sixteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second, by the Grace of God of Great Britain and so forth, King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord Christ, one thousand seven hundred and forty two.

This Will of William LODER late of Haselbury Bryan in the County and Archdeaconary of Dorset deceased, was proved by the oath of Giles LODER the nephew of the said deceased and sole Executor within named to whom Administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted, he being first sworn upon the Holy Evangelists well and faithfully to Administer the same, also to make a true and perfect Inventory, thereof and to pass a just account thereon, when thereto lawfully required.
