Last Will & Testament of Thomas Doggrell dated 4th August 1813 and Proved at Bourton in the parish of Gillingham on the 30th day of March 1816 In the name of God Amen I Thomas Doggrell of the Parish of Gillingham in the County of Dorset Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) My desire is to be buried at the discretion of my Executor; and my Will is and I do hereby direct that all the just debts which I shall owe at my death and also my funeral expenses shall be paid as soon after my decease as conveniently may be; I give and devise unto my daughter Christian Doggrell the Tenement or Dwelling house adjoining to and at the North end of the Dwelling house I now live in together with the orchard immediately behind the said Tenement of Dwelling house, and a moiety or half part of the Garden at the back part of my said Dwelling house which I now live in. To hold unto her my said daughter Christian Doggrell her Heirs and Assigns forever upon condition that my said daughter Christian do and shall pay within twelve months after my decease unto the children of my daughter Elizabeth Kingas shall be then living the sum of Ten Pounds to be equally divided between them. I give and devise unto my daughter Ann Doggrell all that Tenement or Dwelling house I now live in with the remaining moiety or half part of the garden belonging to the same and the small orchard adjoining at the South. To hold the said last mentioned Tenement or Dwelling house, half part of the garden and orchard with their Appurtenances unto my said daughter Ann Doggrell her Heirs and Assigns forever upon condition that my said daughter Ann do and shall likewise pay within twelve months after my decease unto the children of my daughter Elizabeth King as shall be then living the Sum of Ten Pounds to be equally divided between them. My said daughters Christian and Ann to have the use of the Well jointly. I give to my said daughter Ann my Clock and Case and corner cupboard in my parlour. I give to my daughter Virtue - the wife of Samuel Read my best bed bedstead and bed cloaths to the same. All the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects of what nature or kindsoever which shall remain after payment of my debts and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath unto and amongst my seven children viz: Virtue (the wife of Samuel Read ), John Doggrell, Mary (the wife of James Mead), Thomas Doggrell, Silas Doggrell, William Doggrell, and Sarah (the wife of John Snook) to be equally divided between them share and share alike. And I do nominate and appoint my said son John Doggrell sole Executor of this my Will. Hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and I do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof to this my said last Will and Testament I have set my hand and seal the Fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen. Signed sealed declared and published by the said Thomas Doggrell the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses the interlineation "My said daughters Christian and Ann to have the use of the Well jointly" having been first made.
