This is the last Will and Testament of Levi Charles CHRISTOPHER of Burlestone Dorchester in the County of Dorset made this seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty Signed Levi Charles CHRISTOPHER Signed by the said testator Levi Charles CHRISTOPHER in the presence at the same time , who at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses. Laura PAULL Post Office Puddletown On 21st day of December 1939 Probate of this Will was granted at Blandford. Genealogical Notes:- The ancestry of Levi Charles Christopher is unusually complicated as different branches of the Christopher family intermarried. Levi Charles Christopher (1858-1939) was the third of eleven children of Charles Christopher (1831-1907) a shepherd and his wife Rhoda (nee) Christopher (1836-1897) and Levi was baptised in Cheselborne on 5th September 1858. Levi’s paternal grandparents were James Bussell Christopher (1799-1877) & Ellen Muffett (c1802-1832) but when his 1st wife died his grandfather remarried to Sarah [known as Sally] nee Christopher (1825-?) the 5th child of David Christopher (1793-1851) & Jenny Galton (1795-1883). Sarah was 25 years his junior and 2 years after James Bussell Christophers death she remarried in 1897 to a John Trash. Levi’s mother Rhoda Christopher (1836-1897) was Sally’s younger sister being the 9th child of David and Jenny. Levi Charles Christopher (1858-1939) married Emily Jane nee Christopher (1863-1929) in 1887. Emily Jane Christopher was the daughter of James Christopher (1838-1906) and Charlotte nee Christopher (1839-1877). Her mother was the illegitimate daughter of Jane Christopher (1818-1894)who was the 2nd child of David and Jenny Christopher and therefore another sister to both Sally and Rhoda. As his wife died at Athelhampton in 1929 and they had no children he left everything to Fanny one of his sisters as outlined above.
