Sub Division Meeting - 27th April 1764 ----(Image 20)

At a Meeting of His Majesty's Deputy Lieutenants and Justices of the peace of the County of Dorset held at the house known by the sign of the 'Antelope Inn' in Dorchester on Friday Twenty Seveth day of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Four being the second meeting appointed to be held of the sais sub division at the General Meeting held the Twenty fisth day of October last for carrying into further execution the Act of Parliament made in the second year of his present Majesty's Reign entitled An Act to explain account and reduce into one Act of Parliament the several Laws now in being relating to the raising and training of the Militia within that part of Great Britain called England.

We thinking it conveinient and necessary to add together the several Parishes, Tythings and Places contained in their respective Districts into the said Sub Division (a method agreed at the General Meeting held the 19th day of December 1759) in order to render our proceedings as equal and impartial as the nature and circumstances of things can possibly admit AND WHEREAS it appears that the several persons who are hereunder mentioned have been legally discharged from the Dorchester Regiment for just cause or are entitled their discharge from serving as Militia Men in the siad Regiment by their term of three years service having expired or promoted to the Rank of Sergeant according to the said recited Acr therefore pursuant to the power vested in us by Law We do hereby confirm the discharges of all and every such men serving in the said Militia and instead of the men legally discharged and of those who have occasioned vacancies by --illegible-(death) - since the last Ballott belonging to this subdivision have this day chosen by lott the several Persons likewise hereinafter specified to supply such vacancies according to the number of vacancies in each district (Vizt)

We appoint the Meeting for enrolling the said men chosen for this Sub Division to be as follows viz: The men chosen by lot in the said district of Blandford to be summoned to appear at the meeting to be held at the Kings Arms in Winterbourne Whitchurch on Monday the 14th day of May next and the men chosen by lot in the said district of Dorchester to be summoned to appear ast the meeting to be held at the Kings Head Weymouth and Melcombe Regis on Tuesday the fifteenth day of May next

The following are the names of persons chosen by lot at the last Meeting for this Subdivision belonging to the District of Dorchester who have appeared before us this day and been enrolled to serve the Dorsetshire Regiment of Militia for the term of three years or provided substitutes to serve in their place and stead as posted opposite to their respective names or are discharged by being incapacitated or otherwise.

Sub Division Meeting - 13th September 1764 ----(Image 26)

At a Meeting of His Majesty's Deputy Lieutenants and Justices of the Peace of the said County of Dorset held at the house known by the sign 'Antelope' in Dorchester in the said County for the Subdivision of Dorchester on Thursday the Thirteenth day of September One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Four as appointed at a General Meeting held the eleventh day of August last past for carrying into further execution the laws now in force relating to the raising and training of the Militia Forces within that part of Great Britain called England.

We think it convenient and necessary to add together the Lists of several Parishes Tythings and Places contained in their respective districts in the said Subdivision in the same names as at the last ballots in and for the subdivision - And it appears unto us that the several persons who are hereunder mentioned have been legally discharged from the Dorsetshire Regiment for just causes or are entitled to their discharges from serving as Militia Men in the said Regiment by their terms of three years being expired therein pursuant to the power vested in us by law we do hereby confirm these discharges of all and every such men from serving in the said Militia and instead of the men so legally discharged and of those who have occasioned vacancies by Death or otherwise since the last ballots belonging to this subdivision have this day chosen by lot the several persons likewise hereafter specified to supply such vacancies according to the number of vacancies in such District.

NOTE: This Meeting is now held in pursuance of an appointment made by the Clerk his Notice thereof given to the Deputy Lieutenants in this Subdivision instead of the Meeting which was fixed at the General Meeting held the 11th day of August last past could not be held at the Antelope in Dorchester aforesaid on Thursday the sixth day of September instant by reason a sufficient number of Deputy Lieutenants and Justices of the Peace did not happen to Act - And we also allow and confirm the above power and order that the next Meeting for this Subdivision be held at the 'Antelope' in Dorchester aforesaid on Tuesday the Twenty Fifth day of September.

Sub Division Meeting - 29th September 1764 ----(Image 29)

At a Meeting of His Majesty's Deputy Lieutenants of the said County of Dorset held at Dorchester in and for the County of Dorset for the Subdivision of Dorchester on Saturday the Twenty Ninth day of September One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Four (pursuant to the adjournment of the Meeting held in and for the said Subdivision the Twenty fifth day of September Instant) for carrying into further execution the laws now in force relating to the raising and training of the Militia Forces within that part of Great Britain called England.

The following are the names of persons who have appeared before us this day and been enrolled to serve the Dorsetshire Regiment of Militia for the term of three years as substitutes for and in place and stead of these persons posted opposite to them.

At a Meeting of His Majesty's Deputy Lieutenants in & for the County held at the Antelope Inn at Dorchester (in pursuance of the above adjournment ) on Saturday the Sixth day of October Instant for carrying the Militia Law into further execution.
