NOTE:- Date of Death 2 Aug 1643; Probate dated 10 January 1648/9.

Memorandum:

That Edward Peale late of East Compton in the Countie of Dorsett Clerk deceased upon or about the second day of August Anno Domini Millisimo Sescentesimo quadragesimo tertio [In the year one thousand six hundred and forty three] last past beinge in his perfect mind and memerie [memory] did make and declare his last will and testament nuncupative [verbally] as followeth orto the like effect vitz:-

Impremis: [In the first place] he did give the peice [piece] of Land which he purchased of Mr Anthony Pelham to his eldest sonne

Item: he willed that his goods which he dyed possessed of should bee divided beetweene his wife and his sonne Edward.

Item: in particular he gave his books to his said sonne Edward but willed that his wife should have foure of the books for her selfe and the rest of the children one a peece [piece] .

Lastly: the said deceased willed and bequeathed the rest of his estate to his six younger children in the presence and hearing of credible witnesses.

Decimo die mensis Januarij Anno Domini Stilo Anglie milessimo Sescentessimo quadragesimo [On the tenth day of January in the year one thousand six hundred and forty eight]

His relict Alice Peale is given administration of his estate.

Note: See short Biography of the life of Rev. Edward Pele on this site. He was Vicar of Fordington from 1616 until his death in 1643, but moved as Rector of Compton Vallance in 1628 to live in that parish.
