ANDERSON or Winterborne Anderstone, a parish in the Hundred of Coombs-Ditch and Blandford Union, 6 miles south from Blandford, contained, in 1841, 43 inhabitants, with 570 acres. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, value £146, and in the patronage of St. Barbe Tregonwell, Esq., who is also lord of the manor Hammond House, M.A., is the incumbent, and the Rev. Edward Dansey, M.A., curate. The church dedicated to St. Michael, is a small edifice, without either tower or spire. The parish is watered by the Winter Borne.

ANDERSON, or Winterborne Anderstone, is a parish in the Hundred of Coombs-Ditch, Blandford Union and county court district, 6 miles south from Blandford, diocese of Salisbury, archdeaconry of Dorset, and deanery of Whitchurch, contained, in 1851, 59 inhabitants, with 570 acres. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury. The tithes were commuted at £120 per annum, 4 acres of glebe land, with residence, in the patronage of St. Barbe Tregonwell, Esq., who is also lord of the manor incumbent. The church of St. Michael is a small edifice, without either tower or spire. The parish is watered by the Winter Borne.

Anderson (or Winterborne Anderson) is a parish watered by the Winterbourne, 4 miles south-west from Bailey Gate station on the Midland and South Western Junction (Somerset and Dorset) railway and 6 south from Blandford, in the Northern division of the county, hundred of Coombs-Ditch, Blandford petty sessional division, union and county court district, rural deanery of Whitchurch (Poole portion), archdeaconry of Dorset and diocese of Salisbury.

The church of St Michael, having fallen into decay, was rebuilt 1889 in the later Early English style in accordance with the original design. It consists of chancel, nave, south transept and a western turret containing 2 bells. The register dated from the year 1650.

The living is a rectory, net income £75, with 3 acres of glebe and residence, in the gift of Robert N Tory esq. and held since 1891 by the Rev Richard Askew B.A. of Jesus College, Cambridge, who is also a rector of and resides at Winterborne Zelstone. Robert N Tory is the principal landowner.

The soil is gravel; subsoil, chalk. The chief crops are wheat and barley. The area is 597 acres; rateable value, £522; the population in 1911 was 56.
