THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Charles Frederick Payne Captain in the Royal Navy living at Weymouthe county of Dorset I desire that I may be buried in the parish wherever I shall happen to die and strictly **** that it may be done in the most fugal manner possible I give and bequeath to my dear wife the interest of whatever property I may die in possession of for the benefit of herself and my family by her and at her decease I desire it may be sold and equally divided among my children by her (surviving) in such equal proportions as their *** may appear justifiable prudent and equitable proportions and on any of them ****ing during her life in a profession or marriage (with ever ***) I request *** the ** *** may be given an equitable proportion (say about five hundred pounds more or less) considering what they may then be in possession of or may have had according to the judgement of my executive and executor my wife Barbara Ann Payne & Willm Eliot Esqre banker of Weymouthe **** I request to act assurd for the benefit of my family and this my will I give to my son **- ward Owen Payne ( who **iss Buyer of Dorchester and adopted) any piece of furniture he may wish to have now in my house hoping he will assist his brothers and sisters whenever an opportunity offers *** witness whereof I have ****** *** my name and inscribed this paper this 24 th January 1840 |--| Charles Frederick Payne |--| Signed and Secured?
