Probate Records of the Court of the Dean of Salisbury
The list has been extracted from the on-line index. It has been compared with a list extracted from "Calendars of wills & administrations relating to the county of Dorset [1557-1800] : British Record Society Index Library, vol. 53: Dorset wills, part 2", published London : The British Record Society, 1922, edited by Fry, George Samuel. Section 12 (pages 45 to 127): Peculiar Court of the Dean of Sarum (relating to Dorset ) 1500-1801. This has highlighted a single additional entry in the on-line index under Charminster rather than Stratton which has been added to the list.
Note that sometimes two or three entries relate to the same Will or probate documents. Often one entry relates to the original Will and another to a copy of it.
