Nat WILLIAMS born 24 JAN 1878  - a man greatly loved – gave his life amongst the first of the New Zealanders in Gallipoli on St Mark’s day 1915 – his friends in Little Bredy set this record to his memory.

Son of Colonel Sir Robert Williams, 1st Bart., and Lady Williams, of Bridehead, Dorchester, England. Educated at Eton and Oxford. Employed by Waihi Gold Mining Company, Ltd.

Born at Little Bredy, Dorset, and enlisted at Dorchester, Dorset, the son of Walter James and Mary Jane Bagg of Lastridge Cottage, Warmwell, Dorchester. Killed in action during the assault on Turkish trenches between Aire Kayak and Susak Kuyu, Suvla, on Aug. 21, 1915, aged 18 years. Name commemorated on the Helles Memorial and on the Warmwell War Memorial, Dorset.

 

WINTLE, Private Ernest William No.10365 5th Bn.

Born Little Bredy, Dorset, and enlisted at Beaminster, Dorset, the son of John and Lucy Ann Wintle of Higher Wraxall, Rampisham, Dorchester. At the time of his enlistment he was living at Higher Wraxall. Killed in action. during the assault on Turkish trenches between Aire Kayak and Susak Kuyu, Suvla, on Aug. 21, 1915, aged 21 years. Name commemorated on the Helles Memorial and on the Wraxall War Memorial, Dorset.
