Will dated 16 February 1811 - Proved on 23 March 1816

In the name of God Amen, I Thomas GODDARD of Hazlebury Bryan in the County of Dorset, Yeoman, do make this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that it is say.

First I give and devise unto my daughters Ann and Susannah, all that close of meadow called, Ridge Meadow, to hold to them, their heirs and assigns, as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.

Also I give and devise unto my son Thomas, all that messuage, farm lands and premises called Ridge, except the said meadow called Ridge Meadow, hereinbefore given to my said daughters, which said close of meadow called Ridge and said messuage and lands called Ridge, situated in Hazlebury Bryan aforesaid, to hold to him, his heirs and assigns forever.

Also I give unto my daughter Elizabeth, the wife of William BROWNE, the sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executor herein after named at the end of six months next after my decease.

Also I give unto my son James, my mash tub and smith's bellows.

All my household goods and furniture, plate, linen, china, barrels and dairy utensils, I give unto my said son Thomas and daughters Ann and Susannah in equal shares and proportions.

And it's my desire that they will agree to divide the same themselves.

All the rest, residue and remainder of my real and personal Estate not hereinbefore given, I give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas and I do hereby make, nominate and appoint my said son, whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eleven.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who subscribed our names as witnesses, at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other (tho inter--- over the eighth line from the beginning being --- beginning with the word 'which' and ending with the word 'aforesaid'

On 23rd day of March 1816, the written Will of Thomas GODDARD, late of Hazlebury Bryan, in the County and Archdeaconary of Dorset, Yeoman deceased, was proved by the oath of Thomas GODDARD of Hazlebury Bryan, aforesaid carpenter, the lawful son of the deceased and whole and sole Executor, therein named, to whom Administration of all and singular, the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, was granted, he having been first sworn upon the Holy Evangelist well and faithfully to administer the same, to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof, unto the Registry of the Court of the Archdeacon of Dorset and under a just account thereof whom thereto lawfully read.

And that the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds.
